Event programme:

The EuroVelo 3 International Conference, titled “Cycling and Cultural Tourism: the perfect match”, featured two main plenary sessions with representatives from international, national and regional governing bodies, tourism organisations and project partners.

Participants got the opportunity to look back at the main results of the project which initially kicked-off back in April 2018 in Brussels. The programme also featured several parallel sessions on various cycling tourism subjects such as UNESCO sites, route promotion and infrastructure. Some of the additional evening activities included a walking tour in Santiago and registration to the Conference was free.

On the second day, a bike visit was organised along the EuroVelo 3 section in Santiago de Compostela, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site in the northwest of Spain, known for its pilgrimage traditions.

EuroVelo 3 – Pilgrims Route takes cyclists from Norway to Spain on a 5,100 km long exploration of Europe’s famous pilgrims’ routes and religious buildings. For more information on the route, visit our website.

COSME is the EU programme for the Competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and this project is funded by the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME).
