After months of being locked up at home and participating in online meetings, the EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism will provide a much needed opportunity to meet with peers from across Europe (while complying with all relevant safety requirements). There will also be the chance to stretch the legs on one of several technical visits carefully planned to showcase new cycling developments in and around Barcelona.

These conferences have been held every other year since 2012 to share knowledge, highlight good practices and encourage further development of the EuroVelo network and cycling tourism generally. It is the leading cycle tourism event held in Europe and is promoted by the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) together with the host city.

The last opportunity to bring together the cycling tourism community was back in Limburg in 2018. Since then, we have experienced some unpreceded times but the number of cycling tourists has been increasing and we believe that cycling tourism has great potential to contribute to a safe, greener and more inclusive tourism in the future. The conference therefore provides an excellent opportunity to bring together the cycling tourism sector in Barcelona for engaging sessions, lots of networking opportunities and inspiring technical visits!
