You have until 14 June to submit your abstract on the Conference website.

At this year's EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference, discussions will revolve around the theme 'Cycling: a new perspective on heritage'. The event wishes to discuss the opportunities of combining cycling and heritage for the benefit of local users and tourists, encouraging participants to consider the role of cycling in shaping cultural and natural heritage and boosting debate on best practices and innovative approaches. Four subthemes will help shape the debate:

  • Cycling culture: ideas to attract new users
  • Cycling into nature: between usage and protection
  • Discovering cultural and historical heritage by bicycle: opportunities and challenges
  • Cycle route networks: a link between rural and urban heritage.

On the EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference 2023 website, you will find detailed information about the theme and subthemes, as well as about the priority topics for the Call for abstracts and format of the presentations.

We encourage academics and professionals in the fields of cycling, tourism and heritage, and anyone who has an interesting story, initiative or idea to share to submit their abstracts on the dedicated portal page. You are strongly advised to read the guidelines document on how to submit your abstracts before doing so.

Please share the call with any interested person in your network! We look forward to receiving your abstracts before 14 June 2023.
