Call for abstracts for the EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference 2023!
The European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) and Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) opened the Call for abstracts for the EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference 2023, taking place in Izmir, Türkiye, from 11 to 13 October 2023. You have until 14 June to submit your abstract on the Conference website.
At this year's EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference, discussions will revolve around the theme 'Cycling: a new perspective on heritage'. The event wishes to discuss the opportunities of combining cycling and heritage for the benefit of local users and tourists, encouraging participants to consider the role of cycling in shaping cultural and natural heritage and boosting debate on best practices and innovative approaches. Four subthemes will help shape the debate:
- Cycling culture: ideas to attract new users
- Cycling into nature: between usage and protection
- Discovering cultural and historical heritage by bicycle: opportunities and challenges
- Cycle route networks: a link between rural and urban heritage.
